Autodrom Jastrząb is a modern Driving Technique Improvement Centre meeting the requirements of the Ministry of Infrastructure, located on the S7 route, between Radom and Szydłowiec. Professional technical facilities enable comprehensive organisation of events of various types for passenger cars, trucks and buses. It allows drivers to develop their skills and receive training in safe driving. It is managed by Mr. and Mrs. Michalczewski, who hold the title of Persons of Merit for the IPA Polish Section (Michalczewski Sp. z o.o.). In the past, the IPA Radom Region has twice organised a course in improving driving techniques in a passenger car at the above-mentioned centre, which allowed for positive verification of the professional preparation of courses by a team of instructors, who include active rally drivers.

In the event organized on Sunday, December 15, 2024, participants (20 people) who were not members of the IPA Radom Region, and who were recruited from among people supporting our Association (including those with the title of Persons of Merit for the IPA – Polish Section), active police officers, representatives of the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship Group of IPA, civilians – underwent introductory theoretical training, including Safety Corner classes, i.e. a crash and rollover simulator, a demonstration of the operation of an airbag mounted in the steering wheel. Then they familiarized themselves with the vehicles used on the track (unless the participant used their own vehicle), after which they drove along the track with an instructor, overcoming its obstacles.

The aim of the course was to improve skills (and thus eliminate bad habits of drivers) in the field of competitions: emergency braking in changing conditions, understeering and oversteering skid on a circle, optimisation of the driving path, a jerk – destabilisation of the rear axle wheels on the skid plate, braking while avoiding an obstacle on a hill, road turning technique.

The organised event was an excellent opportunity to promote the activities of the IPA, integrate society with the uniformed services, and promote safe behaviour of road users in theoretical and practical aspects.
