Between 1-4 December 2021, by the invitation of Biljana Dulović – the President of IPA Montenegro Section, the group of 7 Presidium Members (under the chairmanship of Piotr Wójcik – President of IPA Polish Section) was visiting Montenegro. During the stay, linked with the signed cooperation agreement between our Sections, we had a number of meetings, both with the representatives of Montenegro’s Police i.e. a meeting with Deputy Commander of the Border Guard and the Capital City Commander in Podgorica and a meeting in the Police Academy in Danilovgrad as well as with our IPA colleagues from various regions of Montenegro (Region Jug, Region Sevier and Region Centre). The Vice-president of IPA Montenegro Section Vojislav Dragović toured us through the sport facilities, on which the “IPA Olimpic Games” in May 2022 are to be held; he asked us for our opinion considering those facilities and presented us with a preliminary programme of this sport event.

On the third day of our stay, a trip to the city of Szkoder in Albania was organised for us – we had an opportunity to meet the representatives of IPA Albanian Section and the President of IPA Albanian Section there. During this meeting we have discussed a number of issues considering the operating of our Sections and we have expressed our willingness to commence the cooperation between IPA Albanian Section and IPA Polish Section. We have been invited to come for the Election Congress of IPA Albanian Section, which will be held in February 2022. We have agreed that after the election of new IPA Albanian Section Authorities, the discussions on establishing cooperation between our Sections shall begin.

On the last day of our stay in Albania we have held a joint session of IPA Polish Section Presidium and IPA Montenegro Section Presidium . The session was held in the city of Bar. During the session we have discussed our so far cooperation and agreed on how will it work in 2022. Our 4-day stay in Montenegro was held in a fully professional way, the meetings and visits were truly substantive and the care which we have experienced from our colleagues from IPA Montenegro Presidium was perfect. Although the weather was not really pleasant, as it was raining for 2 days, the organisers made sure that we could see the most beautiful places in Montenegro and showed us Kotor, Ulcinij, Budva, Podgorica, the island of Saint Stephen and Old Bar.

The cooperation between IPA Montenegro Section and IPA Polish Section will continue in the years to come and as it was agreed during the joint session, it needs to be transferred on the regional level, namely between the Regional Sections in both IPA Sections.
